Sign Language is not the only way deaf people can use gestures or make signs with their hands to communicate. People may not want or be able to learn a whole language based around signing. In this case other forms of language come in. The most popular of these in the UK is Sign Supported English.
What is Sign Supported English?
As the name suggests, Sign supported English relates to the English language. British Sign Language(BSL) does not. Sign Supported English takes the signs from BSL and uses them in the order that the words would be spoken in English. This means that a working knowledge of the signs for different words is needed in order to understand and use sign supported English.
Level 1 – Our course is 36 lessons spread across 36 weeks, each lesson lasting 2 hours.
The cost is £190.
Level 4 – The course is 36 weeks and the total cost is £279.
It is possible to pay in instalments by agreement with the tutor.
