Bury Deaf Society was awarded £10,000 for 3 years from Bury Council Commissioning Fund to support the charity in its work to help deaf and hearing impaired people , their families and carers.

Hi everybody. I just thought I’d drop you a quick message to let you know of a recent discovery I made. I was recently in a cab to university when I saw a poster for “cab:app”. It’s an app for phones which allows you to order cabs using the app (no phoning up needed). Being profoundly deaf, its a godsend to me as I often find myself stuck in places when there’s nobody around to phone one for me.
Also, the people at cab:app are planning to give 10% of their profits to a charity. They have asked me if I knew of any local charities. I recommended Bury Deaf Society.

A most enjoyable weekend was had recently with our much loved Ladies Craft Weekend. We had a great turnout, with 17 people on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. There were many creative and enthusiastic people all having a fantastic time. As can be seen from the photos below!
