We provide a relaxed atmosphere for deaf and hearing impaired people to communicate, through signing, lipreading and verbal communication. The Social evening gives you an opportunity to meet other members.
At each event you can take part in darts, computer games or chat via computer webcam and Camfrog video chat to your deaf friends all around the world! You can watch television or a DVD with subtitles. Refreshments will be served at each event.
We have speakers who come to the social evenings to talk on a number of issues, such as welfare rights and unemployment. Once every 3 months we are visited by Dering, an employment company for the deaf. They help and give advice, such as C.V. preparation and finding suitable training courses. Hearing impaired volunteers and trustees run these events for the benefit of members.
This activity is 30p for members and 50p for non members. But come and try it out for free the first time!
